A global leader in advanced metals manufacturing is seeking a proactive and experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to join its UK production facility in Hereford. Role Overview
Reporting to the UK EHS Manager, the HSE Manager will be responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental strategies across the manufacturing site. The post holder will work collaboratively with operational teams to develop and maintain systems that ensure legal compliance, mitigate risk, and embed a culture of safety at all levels of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance to senior leadership on HSE strategy, regulatory requirements, and performance improvement.
- Develop, implement, and monitor SHE policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and drive continual improvement.
- Lead internal audit and governance processes, including cross-audits and risk control analysis.
- Monitor and report on OHSE performance through KPIs, highlighting trends and proposing corrective actions.
- Represent the organisation in all regulatory communications and submissions.
- Champion employee engagement in safety culture through visible leadership and shop floor interaction.
- Deliver effective HSE training aligned with legal and organisational requirements.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders to establish and implement strategic HSE goals and action plans.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Chartered Member of IOSH (or working towards).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior HSE role within a high-risk industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, with experience in implementing and auditing these systems.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and leading HSE initiatives and programmes.
- Understanding of process safety principles and cultural change methodologies.

- Deep knowledge of UK EHS regulatory frameworks and best practices.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Excellent analytical, planning, and organisational abilities.
- Effective communicator with proven ability to deliver clear and engaging presentations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant EHS software tools.
- High level of initiative, autonomy, and integrity.
