BioChek is hiring for a Technical Specialist to join their Manufacturing and Quality team. Reporting directly to the Head of Manufacturing and QC, this role offers the opportunity to work across production, analytical, and quality functions while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

This position could suit candidates from a range of backgrounds, including Manufacturing Sciences, Technical Specialist, Process Engineering, R&D, or Scientific Manufacturing environments. Candidates with strong expertise in continuous improvement, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, or ELISA-based technical work are all encouraged to apply.

The Role

  • Acting as a technical subject matter expert, you will support troubleshooting activities, lead investigations, improve operational performance, and contribute to process optimisation initiatives across manufacturing and quality operations.
  • This is a highly collaborative role with visibility across multiple departments and the opportunity to make a measurable impact within the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical investigations and support troubleshooting activities across production and analytical functions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Support root cause analysis, non-conformance investigations, and CAPA activities.
  • Partner with supervisors and leadership teams to achieve operational KPIs and performance targets.
  • Manage technical and process improvement projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Provide support during process transfer activities from R&D into manufacturing.
  • Assist with audits, training plans, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Support day-to-day manufacturing and analytical operations as required.

About You

We’re open to a broad range of profiles for this opportunity. You may come from a highly technical R&D or assay development background, or alternatively have strong experience within manufacturing sciences and continuous improvement environments.

The ideal candidate will likely have:

  • Experience within manufacturing sciences or regulated laboratory/manufacturing environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Experience leading investigations, CAPA activities, or process improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of ELISA processes or biological production environments would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Previous experience in a technical, manufacturing sciences, process engineering, or continuous improvement role.
  • Experience working within GLP, GMP, or ISO-regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Risk Management, Six Sigma, or project management methodologies would be beneficial.
