My client is a growing engineering and manufacturing business supplying high-performance components to a range of technically demanding industries. Backed by continued investment and innovation, the company operates from modern facilities near Oxford and is experiencing sustained growth across its customer base.
An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Technician to support inspection and quality assurance activities across the manufacturing operation. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will be responsible for ensuring incoming materials, purchased components, and manufactured parts meet both internal and customer quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out incoming inspection of materials and components against drawings and specifications.
- Verify certificates, inspection records, and supporting documentation.
- Raise and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Perform dimensional inspection using CMM equipment.
- Support CMM programming and modifications where required.
- Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and CAD models.
- Use manual inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Maintain accurate quality records and calibration logs.
- Support root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Quality Technician, Quality Inspector, or similar inspection role.
- Experience using CMM equipment within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience conducting incoming goods inspections.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 or a similar quality management system.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills
- Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality qualification (NVQ, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
- CMM training or certification.
- Experience within precision engineering, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or medical device sectors.
