What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out quality control testing and routine sampling in line with laboratory procedures and agreed timelines.
- Preparing workstations, laboratory equipment, consumables and bacterial strains for testing.
- Maintaining accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Supporting investigations, corrective actions and change control activities as your training develops.
- Identifying and reporting unusual results or potential quality issues.
- Maintaining clean, safe and organised laboratory facilities.
What we’re looking for:
- A degree in Biological Sciences or relevant laboratory experience.
- Knowledge of microbiology and laboratory techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Good planning, organisation and communication skills.
- An understanding of laboratory quality and health and safety requirements.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to manage tasks against deadlines.
- A valid driving licence and your own transport, as these are required to commute to the site due to its location.
Working hours and annual leave:
The core working week is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours, with participation in a weekend rota. This typically involves one Saturday or Sunday shift per month, occasionally two depending on the month.
You’ll receive 33 days’ annual leave. Bank holidays are worked, with this reflected in the overall holiday allowance.
