Business Development Associate - Pharmaceutical Devices

Location: Central London

Salary: Up to £35,000 basic + bonus

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

We are recruiting for a proactive and commercially minded Business Development Associate to join a growing organisation operating within the pharmaceutical device sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for a scientifically qualified graduate or early-career professional looking to develop a career in business development and sales. You will support the wider BD team in identifying new opportunities, engaging prospective clients and expanding the organisation’s international market presence.

Key responsibilities

  • Research and identify prospective customers and commercial opportunities.
  • Contact potential clients and support lead-generation activities.
  • Maintain and improve CRM data, including customer and market intelligence.
  • Support client meetings, sales planning and business development campaigns.
  • Build relationships with prospective clients and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends, customer requirements and competitor activity.
  • Work with marketing colleagues on campaigns and promotional activities.
  • Prepare reports covering sales activity, market trends and commercial performance.
  • Represent the organisation at exhibitions, conferences and industry events.
  • Provide market feedback to product development, engineering and quality teams.

About you

  • A 2:1 degree or above in a scientific discipline related to pharmaceutical sciences and/or business management.
  • A strong interest in developing a career in sales and business development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organised, proactive and attentive to detail.
  • Commercially aware, resilient and comfortable working towards targets.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems or lead-generation tools would be advantageous.
  • Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
  • Willing and able to travel internationally when required.
  • Eligible to work permanently in the UK and able to meet international travel requirements.

This position offers a competitive basic salary of up to £35,000, an additional bonus scheme and the opportunity to build a commercial career within an innovative, internationally focused pharmaceutical technology business.
