The Opportunity
We are representing a growing organisation delivering construction-led projects across the UK, including infrastructure, utilities and technical installation environments. This role offers the opportunity to lead the HSEQ function, ensuring legal compliance, maintaining ISO accreditations and driving a strong, proactive safety culture across multi-site operations.
The Role
Reporting to senior leadership, the HSEQ Manager will act as the organisation’s competent person for health, safety and environmental matters. You will lead and maintain the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 27001), ensuring compliance, successful audits and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation including the Health & Safety at Work Act, CDM 2015, PUWER, COSHH, Working at Height and RIDDOR.
- Develop and maintain HSEQ policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
- Conduct site audits and inspections across UK project locations.
- Review RAMS, Construction Phase Plans and risk assessments.
- Lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Manage subcontractor H&S performance and pre-qualification.
- Plan and deliver internal ISO audits; coordinate external certification audits.
- Support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives and KPI reporting.
- Provide HSEQ input into tenders and operational planning.
About You
Essential:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (Diploma desirable).
- Experience within Construction, Civils, Utilities, Infrastructure or similar sectors.
- Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation and CDM 2015.
- Practical experience managing and auditing ISO systems.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
Desirable:
- ISO Lead Auditor qualification.
- TechIOSH or GradIOSH working towards Chartered status.
- Environmental qualification (e.g. IEMA).
