About the Role
We’re supporting the search for a Fuels Technician to join a specialist technical services team working on complex, high-impact projects within the fuels sector. This is an opportunity to play a hands-on role in developing bespoke fuel formulations while contributing to projects that support industries such as automotive, aerospace, and motorsport.
You’ll combine laboratory expertise with project coordination, helping deliver innovative fuel solutions while ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and quality standards are consistently met.
Role Overview
As a Fuels Technician, you’ll be responsible for managing multiple formulation projects from concept through to delivery. You’ll work collaboratively across technical, commercial, and procurement teams, while also mentoring colleagues and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver multiple fuel formulation projects end-to-end
- Develop and optimise bespoke fuel blends using modelling and empirical methods
- Troubleshoot technical, production, and logistical challenges
- Support raw material specification, sourcing, testing, and approval processes
- Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to customer-facing technical discussions
- Identify opportunities for new fuel applications based on market and customer insights
- Promote best practice processes and continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentor and support team members to enhance capability and performance
- Ensure all work aligns with HSE and quality standards
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Chemistry (or equivalent)
- At least 2 years’ laboratory experience, ideally with fuel testing methods
- Experience managing or supporting technical projects
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply data
- Effective problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across teams
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
