A global leader in advanced materials for the aerospace sector is seeking an experienced Maintenance and Facilities Manager to lead operations at their cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Leicester. As their Maintenance and Facilities Manager, your focus will be to lead the engineering/maintenance team whilst having the ability to manage budgets, CAPEX and oversee contractors.

Maintenance and Facilities Manager responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the engineering and maintenance team, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring full compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve equipment reliability, plant availability, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee preventive and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring timely execution and quality outcomes.
  • Manage budgets for labour, spare parts, and capital expenditure, ensuring cost control and value delivery.
  • Approve and oversee design, installation, and modification of new equipment and infrastructure.
  • Use data-driven insights to monitor performance metrics and continuously optimise maintenance processes.
  • Deliver effective training and coaching to develop team capabilities and ensure adherence to safety and performance expectations.
  • Oversee all aspects of facilities management, including building maintenance, utilities, waste management, and contractor coordination.
  • Ensure buildings, systems, and equipment meet all required health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Plan and deliver building improvements, site upgrades, and central services management.

Maintenance and Facilities Manager experience:

  • Degree in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Proven experience in facilities and maintenance management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • CAPEX experience is highly advantageous.
  • Strong project management capabilities with a track record of delivering complex technical initiatives.
  • Technical knowledge of building services, machinery, and maintenance best practices.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage both strategic and hands-on tasks.
  • Effective time management skills in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and make informed decisions under pressure.
