A growing engineering business delivering process solutions into the food & beverage sector is looking to appoint a Project Engineer to support the delivery of projects from concept through to completion. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where you will take ownership of projects, working closely with customers, internal teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure successful outcomes across scope, cost, schedule and quality.
Salary: £38,000 - £58,000 (DOE) + Benefits
Location: Sparkford, Somerset Office Based + UK Travel (75%)
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main technical point of contact for assigned projects
- Manage projects end-to-end, ensuring delivery to scope, budget and timeline
- Interpret customer requirements and translate into design, equipment selection and work packages
- Coordinate internal teams, suppliers and subcontractors
- Manage project risks, changes and documentation
- Lead project meetings and customer reviews
- Produce project documentation including specifications, commissioning documentation and reports
- Support site-based delivery and commissioning activities
- Drive quality and continuous improvement across projects
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering
- Experience delivering projects within a process, manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong understanding of project delivery and coordination
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Understanding of health & safety and relevant industry standards
Additional Information:
- 75% site-based across the UK (including occasional stays away Monday–Friday)
- Open to both developing engineers stepping up and experienced Project Engineers
- Food & beverage experience preferred, though candidates from chemicals, pharma or similar process industries will be considered
