We are seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to join a leading materials company based in Cambridge. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of production assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing maintenance planning, asset performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Senior Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:
- Arrange and oversee planned maintenance activities, including preparation, execution, and handover to production operations.
- Manage and control annual maintenance expenditure.
- Monitor asset status daily, proactively preventing unplanned outages.
- Ensure asset performance aligns with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Identify and propose capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Control spare part requirements, ensuring stock levels meet operational needs.
- Collaborate with production and planning teams to minimize disruption and maximize asset efficiency.
- Ensure maintenance services meet business requirements and quality standards.
- Maintain and update asset documentation for maintenance and facilities teams.
- Lead root cause analysis for asset failures, ensuring follow-up actions are completed effectively.
Senior Maintenance Engineer Requirements:
- Recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship, degree, or equivalent (minimum BTEC HNC in Electrical Engineering).
- 18th Edition electrical qualification.
- Awareness of DSEAR/ATEX regulations is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated and highly organised.
- Familiarity with multiple engineering disciplines.
- Proficient in computer literacy and experience with CMMS systems.
- Strong understanding of UK legislation related to manufacturing facilities.
Desirable Qualifications:
- COMPEX EX 1-4 (gas/vapours) and 5-6 (dust).
- CAD qualification.
- IOSH Managing Safely certification.
