About the Role
As a Senior QC Analyst, you will be responsible for executing microbiological tests, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and assisting with the training and mentoring of team members. You will help ensure laboratory compliance with quality standards, contribute to audit readiness, and support key projects within the quality control function.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological testing in line with established procedures and timelines.
- Prepare workstations, equipment, and materials for laboratory activities.
- Lead or support investigations into deviations, CAPAs, and change controls.
- Assist in writing and updating sampling instructions and test methods.
- Contribute to project activities, including validation and equipment qualification.
- Oversee daily laboratory operations when required and support training of new analysts.
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Participate in audits and ensure continuous audit readiness.
What We’re Looking For
- A degree in Biological Sciences or relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
- At least 1–2 years' experience in a Quality Control Microbiology laboratory.
- Strong understanding of quality standards and Health & Safety requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, planning, and organisational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a busy and collaborative team.
- Team leadership skills or a willingness to develop leadership capabilities.
Please note, due to the location of this site, you MUST be able to drive and have your own transport; there are no public transport options available.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary: £27,000 – £30,000, depending on experience
- Location: Berkshire
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 18:00 Plus 1 weekend shift per month
