Our client, a globally renowned materials company based in Cambridge, is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead a variety of projects in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role will be pivotal in managing resources, ensuring effective project delivery, and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Mechanical Project Engineer Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple projects within a manufacturing setting, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
- Oversee internal and external resources to drive project success.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders through effective communication and leadership.
- Plan, manage, and control key project deliverables to ensure smooth execution.
- Take an active role in the technical aspects of projects including:
- Translating concepts into detailed specifications for a range of manufacturing equipment.
- Creating and maintaining mechanical specifications, drawings, and documentation.
- Conducting tender analysis and validation, design and construction review, commissioning, and handover.
Mechanical Project Engineer Requirements
- A recognised Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Proven project engineering experience in a manufacturing or process environment.
- Strong background in the design and specification of industrial chemical processes or similar applications.
- Proficiency in AUTOCAD or Inventor CAD software.
- Experience with ATEX regulations and commissioning (advantageous).
- Familiarity with industry-standard risk assessment techniques such as HAZOP and FMEA.
