We are seeking a talented and forward‑thinking Formulation Chemist to take ownership of product innovation and enhancement within the chemical sector. This is a hands‑on leadership role, guiding projects from initial concept through to commercial launch, ensuring products meet technical, market, and commercial objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the in‑house team of experienced chemists to develop and trial advanced chemical products.
  • Research new raw materials, formulations, and emerging technologies, staying ahead of industry developments.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation.
  • Enhance performance and cost‑effectiveness of existing products.
  • Initiate and manage multiple product development projects, delivering within agreed timelines.
  • Monitor product performance by engaging with customers, sales teams, and internal service departments.
  • Work closely with production and regulatory functions to ensure compliant, timely product launches.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Coatings experience highly desirable.
  • Previous industrial experience in product development within the chemical industry is highly advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem‑solving capabilities with a creative approach.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • IT literate, ideally with experience using laboratory software.
