A growing clean-energy engineering business is looking for a hands-on Senior / Lead Engineer to take ownership of electrical design across new product development and live engineering projects. You’ll be working on real, physical systems including hydrogen power systems and ammonia cracking technology taking designs from concept through to build, test and deployment. This role is ideal for a strong Senior Engineer ready to step up, or an existing Lead who still wants to stay close to the engineering.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing and reviewing electrical schematics and control panels.
  • Defining system-level electrical architectures.
  • Producing electrical design and manufacturing documentation.
  • Supporting build, integration, commissioning and FAT.
  • Troubleshooting issues on live hardware systems.
  • Specifying electrical components (motors, protection, instrumentation, cabling).
  • Supporting safety and compliance activities (HAZOP, FMEA, SIL).
  • Providing technical guidance to a small team of engineers (4–5).

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience in electrical design for industrial systems or equipment.
  • Background in control panels, machinery, automation or process systems.
  • Experience using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SEE Electrical or similar.
  • Knowledge of BS7671 and EN60204.
  • Experience working on complex engineered systems.
  • Exposure to PLC-based systems (Siemens preferred).
  • Comfortable with build, testing and fault finding.

Desirable:

  • ATEX / hazardous area experience.
  • Functional safety exposure (EN 61511 or similar).
