A leading advanced composites and aerospace manufacturing organisation is looking to appoint a Quality Engineer to support quality, compliance and continuous improvement activities across their manufacturing operation in Cambridgeshire.
This role would suit a Quality Engineer from the aerospace, composites, automotive or another highly regulated manufacturing environment who enjoys problem-solving, investigation work and working cross-functionally across production, engineering and supplier/customer quality activities.
You’ll play a key role in supporting operations, customers and suppliers, driving root cause investigations, quality improvement activities and helping to maintain robust quality systems within a technically advanced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
- Support Operations, Customers and Suppliers to optimise quality performance and minimise disruption.
- Champion and facilitate root cause corrective actions (RCCA) for internal and external quality concerns.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives including 5S, FOD, FMEA, APQP and LEAN activities.
- Carry out investigations, projects and statistical/data analysis activities to support quality and customer initiatives.
- Support detailed specification reviews to ensure compliance and minimise commercial and technical risk.
- Work cross-functionally with local and global teams to ensure effective problem resolution and technical support.
- Support ongoing improvement of the site Quality Management System (QMS)
- Develop strong technical understanding of products, processes and testing methods within your area.
- Support shop floor investigations and process support activities where required.
- Assist with customer and supplier quality related activities.
- Use quality and statistical software packages including Minitab, LIMS and similar systems to support investigations and reporting.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in a Scientific, Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent industry experience.
- Around 5 years’ experience working within a complex manufacturing quality environment.
- Experience working to AS9100 and/or ISO9001 quality standards.
- Strong understanding of regulated manufacturing quality systems.
- Experience with structured problem-solving and root cause investigation activities.
- Good understanding of SPC techniques and statistical analysis tools.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across engineering and manufacturing teams.
Desirable Experience
- Aerospace or advanced composites manufacturing experience
- NADCAP awareness or exposure
- Internal auditing experience
- Experience using Minitab, LIMS or similar quality/statistical software packages
- Exposure to project management activities
- Experience working across globally linked manufacturing sites
