We’re hiring a Senior Analytical Technician to join a specialist life sciences team focused on raw material testing and in-process evaluations. About the Role
As a Senior Analytical Technician, you’ll be responsible for testing and evaluating antigens, antibodies, and other raw materials, as well as assessing in-process samples using ELISA. You’ll also play a leadership role, offering daily guidance to other technicians and deputising for the Analytical Supervisor as needed. This is a varied, hands-on position ideal for someone with strong analytical lab skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for both scientific accuracy and team support.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Performing ELISA assays and interpreting results
- Conducting antigen processing and conjugation
- Running SDS-PAGE and other analytical techniques
- Supporting and troubleshooting technical issues in the ELISA area
- Acting as the first point of contact for laboratory technicians
- Reviewing documentation and maintaining accurate electronic records
- Training and mentoring junior team members
- Maintaining lab equipment and ensuring a safe, efficient working environment
- Covering for the Analytical Supervisor when required
What We’re Looking For
- 12–18 months’ experience in a lab-based role (industrial or academic)
- Proven experience in ELISA, SDS-PAGE, and conjugation techniques
- Degree in a life sciences discipline is desirable, or equivalent lab experience
- Analytical, methodical, and mathematically minded
- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Comfortable following procedures and maintaining accurate records
- Confident communicator and team player
- Experience training or mentoring others is a plus

Location: Berkshire (on-site role)
Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 per annum
