This is a role for an ICT teacher who will deliver Edexcel iGCSE to Years 10–11, teach the Year 9 Digital Literacy programme and help the department develop its use of Google Workspace for Education and emerging classroom technologies. The post is part-time for two terms and would suit an experienced Key Stage 4 practitioner or a capable teacher ready to take responsibility for curriculum delivery and day-to-day subject development.

What you'll be doing

  • Plan, teach and assess high-quality Edexcel iGCSE ICT lessons for Year 10 and Year 11.

  • Deliver an engaging Year 9 Digital Literacy programme covering digital citizenship, productivity tools and foundational IT skills.

  • Contribute to the STRIDE curriculum by developing the AI literacy strand within Technology.

  • Use Google Workspace (Classroom, Docs, Slides, Forms, Drive) and other digital tools in lesson design; support colleagues with classroom workflow where needed.

  • Differentiate lessons to support lower-attaining pupils and to stretch higher-ability learners; set and mark prep and provide timely feedback.

  • Complete assessment records and written reports to published deadlines; attend department meetings and offer additional support sessions or drop-in clinics.

  • Adhere to IT Acceptable Use, information security and data protection requirements and the school's safeguarding policies.

What we're looking for

Essential:

  • Good honours degree in Computer Science, ICT or related subject.

  • Proven ability to teach ICT to Key Stage 4 (Years 10 & 11) with knowledge of the Edexcel iGCSE specification.

  • Strong practical skills in office productivity tools, spreadsheets and basic web/design concepts.

  • Clear communication, good organisational skills and an encouraging classroom manner.

  • Willingness to contribute to co-curricular clubs on working days (e.g. Coding Club, HackLab).

  • Commitment to safeguarding.

Desirable:

  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS).

  • Experience teaching Digital Literacy at Key Stage 3 and integrating 1:1 devices (iPads/Chromebooks).

  • Deep familiarity with Google Workspace for Education.
