This role is for a graduate who wants practical classroom experience teaching lower‑school Computing and supporting Mathematics while contributing to boarding and co‑curricular life. You will teach a reduced timetable across Years 7–11, deliver the AI literacy strand of STRIDE, co‑teach Mathematics, and be part of a busy boarding house — an excellent stepping stone into a teaching career with structured mentoring from day one. Starting in January 2027 (or before if possible) this role will be a fixed term contract for a minimum of two terms.
What you'll be doing

Teach Computing (including Edexcel iGCSE ICT) to Years 7–11 and deliver the AI literacy element of the STRIDE curriculum.

Co‑teach and support Mathematics lessons across lower‑school sets.

Prepare and adapt teaching materials, following departmental schemes and using existing digital and physical resources.

Run or support drop‑in clinics and provide extra academic help for pupils.

Support colleagues with Google Workspace for Education and embed digital workflow best practice in lessons.

Act as a Tutor within a Boarding House, carrying out typical evening/boarding duties and contributing to pupil welfare.

Take an active part in the co‑curricular programme (for example: coaching, coding clubs, outdoor activities).
What we're looking for
Essential:
-
Good honours degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or a closely related quantitative subject.

Strong A‑level (or equivalent) results in Mathematics and/or Computer Science.

Ability to explain technical and mathematical ideas clearly to mixed‑ability groups.

Enthusiasm for technology, AI, coding and problem‑solving; willingness to engage in boarding and co‑curricular life.

Good organisation, adaptability, empathy and a constructive attitude to feedback.
Desirable:

Experience working with young people (tutoring, coaching, mentoring).

Confidence with Google Workspace, iPads in education or Microsoft Office skills.
About the team
You will join the Computing and Mathematics departments and be supported by an assigned mentor and the Director of Professional Development. Collaboration, regular lesson observations and a structured 'Teach Meets' programme will support your development.
