Required from September 2026 Cranleigh Senior seeks to appoint a strong honours graduate to join our lively and ambitious History and Politics Department. The successful candidate will teach History from Year 9 through to Year 13 (A-Level). The ability or willingness to contribute to A-Level Politics teaching is highly desirable, as most members of our team work across both disciplines. A Department of Excellence You will join a collaborative team of six colleagues who pride themselves on academic rigor and shared best practices. We believe History and Politics are lived subjects. Our curriculum is supported by an extensive trips programme and the Knoller Society, our dedicated Sixth Form history society which meets weekly to explore niche historical topics.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic: Deliver high-quality lessons, prepare innovative resources, and support students through drop-in clinics.
- Progression: Assist in preparing students for tertiary education, including Oxbridge applications.
- Pastoral: Act as a Tutor to a group of students and participate in the life of a boarding house (including one evening duty per week).
- Co-Curricular: Contribute to the wider life of the school through sports, clubs, or the arts.
- Collaboration: Contribute to departmental resources and attend weekly meetings to share best practices.
