The Opportunity
Cranleigh School is seeking an ambitious and high-achieving Honours Graduate to join our flourishing Classics Department as a Graduate Assistant from September 2026. The Department
You will join a close-knit, elite team of four specialists who share an infectious passion for the ancient world. Our department is a beacon of academic excellence; our results speak for themselves:
- Latin A-Level: 96% A /A over the last decade.
- GCSE Latin/Greek: Consistently achieving % at Grades 9-8.
Breadth: We offer Latin, Greek, and Classical Civilisation from Year 9 through to A-Level. We are a collaborative team that prizes the sharing of good practice. While we have a wealth of existing resources, we welcome fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to help our students reach their full potential.
The Role
As a Graduate Assistant, you will be fully immersed in the life of a premier boarding school. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Teaching: Delivering high-quality lessons (approximately 0.6 of a full load) to students in Years 9-11, with potential A-Level opportunities for the right candidate.
- Mentorship: Acting as a Tutor within a Boarding House and supporting our vibrant co-curricular programme.
- Academic Support: Contributing to the Classical Society, assisting with clinics, and helping organise trips to classical sites across the UK and Europe.
- Professionalism: Engaging in departmental meetings, resource development, and high-standard assessment and reporting.
