The Research Assistant will support the EU-funded CRYOSTAR project. This Horizon Europe initiative aims to define a certification roadmap and develop validated crashworthiness methodologies for fuselage-integrated liquid hydrogen (LH2) tanks in next-generation aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CRYOSTAR project and contribute to defining a certification roadmap and crashworthiness methodologies for fuselage-integrated LH2 tanks in next-generation aircraft.
  • Assist with research management using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Utilise expertise in finite element analysis (FEA), impact analysis, or structural mechanics to inform project activities.
  • Share knowledge that supports development of crashworthiness concepts; knowledge of crashworthiness or hydrogen/cryogenic systems is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Master’s level in a relevant subject.
  • Experience of management of research, using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Expertise in finite element analysis (FEA), impact analysis, or structural mechanics.
  • Knowledge of crashworthiness or hydrogen/cryogenic systems would be an advantage.
