About the Role
- Provide a professional management and financial accounting service to the Themes/Centres within the Faculty that you are responsible for, ensuring that financial management is maintained to the highest standard to support the Faculty in achieving its strategic aims.
- Deliver strategic and appropriate management information and recommendations to Directors of Theme and Heads of Centre to enable them to take forward‑looking financial decisions concerning the monitoring, growth and development of their Themes.
- Support the Head of Management Accounts and the embedded Finance team to become a recognised Centre of Excellence for budgeting, forecasting, and financial information within the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences (FEAS).
- Act as a contact point for financial queries.
About You
- You will be a qualified accountant or have significant experience working in a management accounting environment, with the ability to interpret financial information and provide clear, practical advice.
Key Qualifications
- Experience of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and management reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confidence communicating financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines in a complex environment.
- Experience gained within a large, complex organisation or the higher education sector, along with knowledge of Agresso or similar financial systems, would be advantageous.
