We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Casual Chef de Partie to join our busy kitchen team. This role is ideal for a confident and adaptable chef who enjoys variety, thrives under pressure, and takes pride in delivering high standards of food and service. Working across our two main kitchens, you will assist with the preparation and service of banqueting dinners, buffets, conferences, events and other hospitality operations. You will be comfortable stepping into different areas of the kitchen as required and capable of working independently as well as part of a wider brigade. Flexibility is essential for this role. Rotas will typically be agreed one week in advance, and we will always do our best to work around your availability wherever possible.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and service of food for banqueting events, buffets, conferences and restaurant operations
  • Work across multiple kitchen sections as required, maintaining high culinary and presentation standards
  • Support senior chefs with daily kitchen operations and service
  • Ensure all food is prepared and served in accordance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic working environment at all times
  • Monitor stock levels within your section and report shortages where necessary
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is used correctly and report any faults promptly
  • Work efficiently during busy service periods whilst maintaining attention to detail
  • Support the wider kitchen team with any reasonable duties required during service

Qualifications & Skills

The successful candidate should have previous experience as a Chef de Partie, or strong Commis/Sous Chef experience in a busy kitchen environment. You should be confident working across different kitchen sections, self‑motivated, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision. The ability to stay calm under pressure with a flexible and positive attitude, a strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards, and excellent teamwork and communication skills are also essential for this role.

Schedule & Availability

Due to the seasonal nature of our trade, there may be quieter periods—particularly during August, Easter, and school holidays—where shifts are limited or not required. During busier periods, however, multiple shifts per week may be available.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Uniform provided
  • Meals on duty
  • Opportunity to work within a professional and supportive team environment
  • Varied and interesting event work
