CraneAERO is a multidisciplinary team based at Cranfield University and a Stage 2 Prototype Winner of the GoAERO Prize. As we enter Stage 3, we are expanding rapidly and putting stronger structure in place to support recruitment, onboarding, and team cohesion.
We are recruiting 1–2 volunteers to support our Talent Acquisition & Culture (TAC) work package. This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who wants real experience in people operations / HR-style coordination, including recruiting support, onboarding, and building a healthy team culture in a fast-paced engineering programme.
What you’ll do (practical and high-impact)
- Support recruitment coordination: tracking candidates, scheduling interviews, and candidate communications
- Assist with fair and consistent interview processes (evaluation forms, scoring, decision notes)
- Support onboarding: introductions, role clarity, access to Teams/channels/folders, and first-week coordination
- Help build team culture: clear expectations, communication norms, simple process improvements, and engagement support
- Maintain basic records and status updates for the recruitment pipeline (confidentially and professionally)
Skills / Qualifications
- Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable following up with people professionally
- Organisation and process thinking (keeping things structured, accurate, and on time)
- Discretion and confidentiality when handling CVs and interview feedback
- Stakeholder coordination across different work packages and personalities
- A practical interest in people/culture, recruitment, onboarding, or team operations
