Crane Worldwide Logistics is a leader in supply chain solutions with over 130 locations across 30 countries providing individual services that address our client's logistics challenges. The Systems Administrator works in conjunction with the internal and external support teams and shares responsibility for the monitoring, support, installation, configuration, system management and operation of server and desktop hardware and software for Crane. Works as part of the Technology Services Team to maintain all desktop, server related assets, applications and services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist in the resolution of technical support issues for server hardware and software.
- Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot physical and virtual server infrastructure.
- Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot Windows and Linux server environment.
- Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot storage arrays and related devices.
- Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot network based services: File and Print services, Email, Active Directory, DHCP/DNS/WINS.
- Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot messaging and meeting systems: conference room equipment, audio/video conferencing, etc.
- Administer, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Azure VM environment.
- Perform additional tasks as requested, including but not limited to:
- Data backups
- Disaster recovery
- Recommendation, testing and procurement of IT related hardware and software
- Document systems and processes
- Recommend and effect policy
- Serve as main escalation point for systems related issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment. Job requires the ability to use vision, adjust focus and work on a standard computer screen. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of LAN and WAN topologies and architecture.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft server, Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange and SharePoint.
- Working knowledge of Server and PC operating systems including Windows 2016, 2019, and 2022 as well as Linux OS Redhat, CentOS, Suse Linux, and Debian.
- Working knowledge of configuring and maintaining VMware and virtual environments.
- Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining all servers, storage arrays, and related equipment, including replication, mirroring, and de-duplication services.
- Experience in configuring and running Microsoft DHCP and DNS services.
- Some knowledge of IP Telephony.
- Working knowledge PC hardware and components including processors, mother boards, accessories, cards, peripherals.
- Working knowledge of PC/LAN application software.
- Working knowledge of IT security.
- Develop effective working relationships with clients, co-workers and vendors.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management and IT clients.
- Ability to interface with technical staff and vendors.
- Some working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and M365 licensing and suite.
- Ability to navigate O365 Exchange and Azure AD.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelorโs degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field preferred. Industry certifications will be considered along with experience for non-degreed candidates. Minimum requirements: 5 โ 7 years of experience providing information technology administration services in Windows environment at a Senior or equivalent level.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
Professional certification may be required in some cases.
