Who you are
- Essential: 1–3 years of experience in a commercial, analytical, or business development role, with strong financial literacy and an understanding of common financial terminology, products, and concepts across banking, payments, lending, and wealth management.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with data and build financial models, combined with proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both internal collaboration and external outreach.
- Natural curiosity about financial services, technology, and how businesses operate.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Desirable: Experience with API-first or technical products.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (FCA regulations, CASS, Consumer Duty).
- Previous experience in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.
- Familiarity with SQL or data analysis tools.
What will you be doing here?
We’re looking for a Commercial Analyst to join our growing team and play a crucial role in driving Griffin’s commercial success. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of sales, business development, and strategic analysis in the fast-evolving embedded finance space.
As a Commercial Analyst, you’ll support our revenue growth by combining proactive outbound activities with analytical insights that shape our go-to-market strategy. You’ll work closely with our Sales and Business Development teams while developing deep expertise in embedded banking and our diverse client sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Outbound & Lead Generation (40%): Conduct targeted outreach campaigns across our key verticals, identifying and qualifying new opportunities through research, LinkedIn outreach, and market analysis.
- Sales & BD Support (35%): Partner with sales and business development to support the end-to-end sales process, from initial qualification through proposal development, commercial modelling, and contract negotiation.
- Commercial Analysis (25%): Analyse revenue drivers across client segments to inform pricing and packaging strategies, and build business cases for new market segments or product offerings.
