Encord is the universal data layer for AI that helps 300+ AI teams train and run models on the right data. Our platform indexes, curates, annotates, and evaluates data across the full AI lifecycle, from development through production. Trusted by Woven by Toyota, AXA, UiPath, Zipline, and more.
As an Associate Product Manager at Encord, you will support the development and growth of our Physical AI platform. You will work closely with Senior PMs to ship products that solve real customer problems in the rapidly evolving AI data development space.
We're building tools for the full Physical AI data stack — from data acquisition, through ingestion and curation at scale, to 3D rendering, annotation, and verification. You'll help shape the product roadmap and tackle challenges such as large-scale efficient data transfer and storage, complex domain modelling, applying the latest machine learning models, and squeezing performance out of web browsers.
What you'll do:
- Problem solving: Break down complex problems into actionable steps and work with the relevant teams to implement solutions.
- Product judgement: Evaluate and prioritise incoming feature requests, and propose new features to stay ahead of trends in the AI data space.
- Customer engagement: Conduct customer interviews and webinars to gather insights and translate these into clear product requirements.
- Product development: Collaborate with engineering and design teams to create detailed product specifications and drive the development process.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, ML, and Customer Success teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of product initiatives.
Who we're looking for:
- Highly organised and execution-oriented — you work well under pressure and uncertainty, with a strong sense of urgency.
- Technically curious and able to understand APIs, data pipelines, and ML workflows at a conceptual level.
- Comfortable with ambiguity — you can decompose messy, ill-defined problems into clear execution plans and get moving without all the answers.
- A strong communicator who can lead customer interviews, run webinars, and keep cross-functional teams aligned.
- Energised by working on hard, fast-moving problems at the frontier of AI.
Experience requirements:
- 1–2 years of experience in product development, consulting, or technical project management; experience in a scale-up environment is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and drive initiatives forward with minimal direction.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort engaging directly with customers and technical stakeholders.
- Bonus: experience with side projects, hackathons, or personal technical projects; prior exposure to AI/ML or data infrastructure products.
Why Encord:
- Competitive salary, commission, and meaningful equity in a high-growth startup.
- Strong in-person culture — most of the team works from our London office 4+ days/week.
- 25 days annual leave + UK public holidays.
- Annual learning & development budget.
- Travel for customer visits, events, and conferences across the UK and Europe.
- Company lunches twice a week.
- Monthly socials & bi-annual team offsites.
