WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As Mechatronics Engineer you will develop, implement and improve processes in operations that reduce labour cost and automate processes to improve Safety, Quality and Delivery. Use best manufacturing methods and technology to ensure any product produced are created in an efficient and cost‑effective manner while complying with health and safety procedures and quality standards. Provide day to day second level technical support for existing equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Specify and design automated assembly and test equipment
- Integration of electro/mechanical automation equipment into existing production lines
- Mechanical design and build of custom jigs and fixtures
- Setup, programming and validation of production automation equipment
- Design for Assembly automation recommendations
- Continuous improvement of production assembly equipment
- Developing design documents for mechanical parts and final products
- Selecting the required tools and materials for the manufacturing process
- Attending workshops, training sessions, and conferences to stay on top of field advancements
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- BEng in Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent qualification in mechanical or electronic engineering
- 2+ years in production line automation development within a manufacturing environment
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and creative thinking skills
- Kaizen / CI experience
- Programming and debugging of robotic controls
- PLC and automation controls an advantage
- Ability to work in a team or alone with good communication skills
- Excellent IT skills with MS Office tools and PC sub‑systems
- Solidworks Mechanical CAD experience
- Mechanical fitting and assembly experience
- Self‑starter with a passion for Engineering
- Understanding of quality processes, error proofing and continuous improvement techniques
- Pneumatics control automation
