As the Accounting Supervisor, you will lead the UK finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements. You will oversee the month-end close process, manage AP/AR operations, support tax compliance, and coordinate audits. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial integrity and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Month-End Close: Lead and manage the UK month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with UK GAAP, US GAAP and internal policies.
- SOX Compliance: Maintain and enhance internal control frameworks in line with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. Ensure documentation and testing of controls are up to date and effective.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Supervise AP and AR functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, collections, and reconciliations. Drive process improvements and automation where possible.
- Tax & Accounting: Support preparation and submission of VAT returns, corporate tax filings, and other statutory tax obligations. Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and liaise with external advisors as needed.
- Statutory Reporting: Prepare and review statutory financial statements for UK entities. Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and coordinate with external auditors during year-end audits.
- Audit Coordination: Act as the key contact for internal, external, and statutory audits. Prepare audit schedules, respond to queries, and implement recommendations.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior finance staff. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional development.
- AAT qualified or higher, qualified by experience.
- Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting, ideally within a multinational or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP would be a preference) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Management experience.
- Experience in manufacturing and multinational company would be beneficial.
