Overview
About Us Druck is a global leader in high‑precision pressure sensing technology. Our products operate in safety‑critical environments across aerospace, industrial, and energy sectors. We pride ourselves on delivering high‑integrity, high‑reliability solutions for customers around the world. We are now expanding our aerospace software capability and are seeking an Embedded Software Test Engineer to support the verification and validation of safety‑critical embedded software developed to DO‑178C Level A.
Role Overview
In this role, you will be a key contributor to the software verification and validation lifecycle, ensuring our embedded systems meet the highest aerospace safety and quality standards. You will work closely with software and hardware engineers to design, execute, and document verification activities in line with regulatory and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Verification Activities
- Develop and execute test plans, test procedures, and test cases to support DO‑178C qualification.
- Ensure all tests provide clear traceability to high‑ and low‑level requirements.
- Perform unit, integration, hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL), and system‑level testing of embedded software.
- Conduct debugging, problem investigation, and defect reporting, working closely with the software development team.
- Produce clear and accurate test reports, evidence packages, and certification documentation.
Compliance & Quality
- Perform verification activities aligned with DO‑178C, DO‑330, and the company quality management system (AS9100).
- Participate in reviews of requirements, architecture, and code to assess testability and completeness.
- Support structural coverage activities (including MC/DC) where required.
Technical Contribution
- Interpret hardware datasheets, microcontroller documentation, and interface specifications to develop robust and realistic test scenarios.
- Work with embedded toolchains, debuggers, simulators, and automated test environments as needed.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of test processes, tools, and templates.
Essential
- Proven experience in software verification and validation in an aerospace or safety‑critical environment.
- Hands‑on experience applying DO‑178B/C practices, ideally to Level‑A.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems and experience testing microcontroller‑based software and low‑level communication protocols.
- Ability to understand and assess C source code for testability (coding not required, but comprehension is).
- Ability to interpret hardware documentation and interface specifications.
- Must hold a British passport or have the right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience with structural coverage (e.g., MC/DC using Parasoft ideally, but LDRA, VectorCAST, Cantata, etc. is also acceptable).
- Familiarity with requirements and configuration management tools (e.g., DOORS, GitHub).
- Experience with HIL/PIL test setups.
- Knowledge of tool qualification under DO‑330.
What You’ll Gain
- Opportunity to work on cutting‑edge aerospace technology.
- Growth in DO‑178C expertise and exposure to high‑integrity engineering practices.
- A collaborative team environment with experienced engineers.
- Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
