The predicted salary is between 30000 - 48000 £ per year.
We currently have a vacancy for the role of Inventory Controller at the Hitchin site. Reporting to the Shipping and Logistics Manager, the Inventory Controller is responsible for assuring the integrity of the stock levels at the site.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Ensure safe handling, storage & repacking of all products in line with company policies.
- Compliance with all health & safety policies.
- Perform daily counts of inventory as per agreed schedule.
- Upload data to produce accurate records of counts and values.
- Action discrepancies as appropriate.
- Identify trends in discrepancies, develop action plans to resolve them.
- Drive continuous improvement in the integrity of the stock accuracy.
- Work with Supply Chain / Value Streams / Warehouse Supervisor to understand changes in Kanban requirements / projected stock and safety stock holding, ensuring adequate locations are determined and setup and the ERP system reflects this.
- Work with Shipping & Logistics Manager / Warehouse Supervisor to investigate excess, obsolete, aged and stock rotation.
- Maintain files, logs, and related records as needed.
- Support on all aspects of the annual Stock Take.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of QAD and MS Office, supported by good product knowledge. An understanding and previous experience of inventory management and the PI process would be an advantage. You must be self-motivated and able to work using your own initiative. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach to work along with good problem-solving skills.
