Essential Functions Performed by the Position:

  • Partner with Engineering and Tech Leads to design for quality, focusing on preventing defects rather than detecting them later in the life cycle.
  • Review test coverage across all layers (unit, integration, contracts and end-to-end) to ensure meaningful, maintainable tests.
  • Contribute hands-on to raise the Quality bar across multiple teams.
  • Comfortable and experienced setting up and amending frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Own quality metrics.
  • Lead initiatives around quality tooling, test data, environments, performance and security testing.
  • Develop and articulate comprehensive testing strategies for new features, products, or system enhancements.
  • Apply design thinking principles to testing—understanding user needs, identifying potential pain points, and ensuring end-to-end quality.
  • Identify and document edge cases, focusing on system scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate closely with development and product teams to ensure early defect detection and smooth release cycles.
  • Utilize and maintain QA tooling and automation frameworks to enhance testing coverage and efficiency.
  • Track and report on quality metrics, demonstrating measurable improvements such as reduced defect leakage, faster release cycles, and improved customer satisfaction.

Position Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance or a related role, with a strong background in test strategy, automation, and quality engineering across complex systems. Strong expertise in modern testing tools and technologies, including Playwright, Cypress, Postman, and C#. Exposure to performance and security testing is a plus. Experience with pair programming is preferred, demonstrating collaborative development and testing practices. Proficient in using collaboration and project management tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Jira.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Any professional testing certification is a plus.
  • Language Proficiency: Possess effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • You are technically astute and comfortable writing code.
  • You see yourself as a partner in Engineering, not a gatekeeper.
  • You’re curious, pragmatic and proactive in raising the quality bar across teams.
  • You are experienced in coaching and mentoring QAs and Engineers alike in quality practices.

How to prepare for a job interview at Crane Authentication Career

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Crane Authentication Career uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
