This is a key role supporting the Leadership Team, focused on ensuring outstanding support for students who face barriers to learning, including social, emotional and behavioural challenges, low self-esteem, and attendance concerns. You will play a vital role in improving student outcomes, promoting inclusion and ensuring effective safeguarding practice across all settings, primarily based at Cranbury Road but regularly attending our satellite sites to ensure consistency and provide support across all provisions.

The ability to analyse data and use it to support students' progress both academically and pastorally, to maintain accurate records and oversee intervention tracking systems is key. In this role you will analyse behaviour, attendance and pastoral data to inform strategy and ensure clear communication across staff, leaders and stakeholders, as well as leading a team of Behaviour Support Workers to ensure a structured, impactful service.

You will also provide targeted mentoring and intervention for vulnerable students, coordinate personalised strategies to improve behaviour, attendance and engagement, liaise with families, external agencies and professionals to ensure joined‑up support and contribute to safeguarding processes and multi‑agency work. A vital part of this role involves the ability to lead behaviour systems and strategies in collaboration with SLT, overseeing daily operational behaviour support, including on‑call and interventions.

You will direct support staff in applying effective behaviour management approaches and proactively identify students at risk of exclusion and implement early intervention.

We are a multi‑site organisation which includes our Primary provision, based at College Road and Secondary provision, based at Cranbury Road. We have Outreach teams that provide specialist support within schools and a Hospital Teaching Service based at Royal Berkshire Hospital who provide education to children on short and long term stays.

Cranbury College is a fast paced, energetic setting where we pride ourselves on a strong team ethic, always working together to create a nurturing and supportive setting for our student's alternative pathway to success.

Maiden Erlegh Trust is committed to developing a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative community of highly effective schools that deliver excellent education opportunities for the children and young people of the communities we serve. Through our work we will ensure that our children are equipped with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to deal with the demands of an ever‑changing world. The Trust currently comprises 9 schools in the local area, with a variety of settings including primary, secondary, special and a PRU. As a Trust, we encourage professional development at all levels through the use of cross Trust networks to share best practice and ideas. We also actively encourage the promotion of staff to different roles within the Trust and to different settings in line with their career aspirations.

Staff Wellbeing is very important to us. As a member of Maiden Erlegh Trust staff these are just some of the examples of how we show our appreciation to staff: We operate a system of ‘ME days’ allowing staff to request an additional day off per year to attend special events such as children’s sports days & graduations, family and friends' weddings. CPD is available for all staff at all levels. Free flu vaccinations are offered to all staff. Free eye tests are provided for eligible staff. Breakfast and lunch provided for staff regularly, including on many INSET days and as a thank you throughout the year.

We are an equal opportunities employer and are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and successful references.
