YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Designer, you will take the creative lead within our in-house team, dedicated to one of the biggest FMCG companies in the world. Reporting into the Creative Director, you will oversee design output across social, ecom, digital campaigns, POS, print, and OOH. You will manage and mentor 1 Designer, ensuring consistently high standards of craft, innovation, and delivery. You’ll also play a pivotal role in driving innovation through Generative AI (GenAI) tools, streamlining workflows, and pushing the boundaries of digital creativity.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creative Leadership & Delivery
  • Lead the development of design concepts and solutions based on creative briefs and client strategies.
  • Oversee execution of design communications for social, ecom, digital campaign, POS, print, and OOH channels.
  • Direct and mentor 1 Designer, providing constructive feedback, guidance, and support to help them grow.
  • Create and refine a wide variety of assets including packaging, memes, campaign/event collateral, GIFs, and motion-based content.
  • Ensure work consistently demonstrates strong typography, layout, visual storytelling, and brand alignment.
  • Retouch packaging and product imagery; develop lockups, layouts, and illustrations (icons and simple motion graphics).
  • Use Adobe Firefly, existing brand assets, and stock imagery to produce timely, relevant content.
  • Client Partnership & Collaboration
    • Act as a senior point of contact for the client, working closely with them on a daily basis—from initial briefing through to final delivery.
    • Confidently present work and creative rationale to clients and stakeholders.
    • Build and nurture strong client relationships based on trust, service, and creative excellence.
    • Partner with account/project managers to gather insights, clarify briefs, and ensure creative solutions align with brand strategy.
  • Problem-Solving & Innovation
    • Apply critical thinking and creative leadership to deliver elegant, simple, and impactful design solutions.
    • Champion innovative approaches, exploring the use of GenAI and new design trends to keep output fresh and forward-thinking.
    • Encourage experimentation within the team, balancing creativity with consistency and brand guidelines.
  • Ways of Working & Team Management
    • Manage the Designer’s workflow alongside your own, prioritising tasks and ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
    • Ensure efficient time-logging, workload management, and quality control across all outputs.
    • Support the team’s ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Contribute to a positive and collaborative studio culture, leading by example.

    This is a hybrid role, with regular on-site work required at the client office in Kingston.

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Design & Leadership Expertise
    • 6+ years of proven design experience with a strong portfolio of impactful work across digital and print.
    • Strong creative vision, with the ability to lead projects from concept to completion.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and inspire a Designer or junior team member.
    • Expertise across multiple formats: social, ecom, digital campaigns, POS, print, OOH, packaging, event collateral, and motion graphics.
    • Strong skills in retouching, lockups, layouts, icon/illustration, and preparing production-ready assets.
    • Awareness of design and digital trends, with the ability to apply them strategically.
  • Technical Skills
    • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
    • Advanced knowledge of Premiere Pro and After Effects.
    • Expertise in Adobe Firefly and other Generative AI (GenAI) tools, with enthusiasm for applying them in creative workflows.
    • Proficiency in PowerPoint design.
    • Nice to have: Splash design, HTML5 banner creation & design.
    • Strong familiarity with print production processes and Mac-based workflows.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to explain and defend creative choices.
    • Ability to build strong client relationships through daily interaction and reliable service.
    • Skilled at collaborating within multidisciplinary teams, while providing leadership in design direction.
