You’ll lead the packaging artwork function for one of the UK’s biggest retailers, acting as the technical expert who ensures every piece of packaging moves through production flawlessly. This role exists because process-driven retail clients require technically excellent artwork that can’t afford errors – you’re the guardian of quality.
Working autonomously within a small, fluid team, you’ll own artwork processes, systems and quality standards across all packaging deliverables. That means creating print‑ready artwork across multiple formats and substrates, interpreting creative concepts into technically robust production files, managing pre‑press and colour management, and liaising with printers to ensure seamless delivery.
You’ll challenge briefs for technical feasibility, implement file management and version control, manage multiple projects against tight deadlines, and continuously improve workflow efficiency. The studio operates at genuine scale: substantial space with CS team, post‑production, photographers and set builders giving you technical partners rarely found in packaging environments.
