We are seeking a mid-level Computational Designer to join our team and contribute to the development and integration of computational design workflows across diverse projects. This role supports the Data-Driven Design team in deploying next-generation design technologies and collaborating with project teams to improve efficiency, innovation, and design quality.

Primary Activities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of computational design tools and workflows at various stages of the design process.
  • Support senior team members in engaging with project stakeholders to demonstrate computational strategies tailored to project goals.
  • Contribute to custom scripting, visual programming, and automation tools that enhance design exploration and analysis.
  • Create and maintain parametric models to support tasks from early-stage design through documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective integration of computational design into broader project workflows.
  • Assist in embedding performance metrics and basic analytics into project proposals and design iterations.
  • Support internal documentation, prototyping, and team training for design technology initiatives.
  • Participate in internal R&D or knowledge-sharing efforts within the studio.
  • Proficiency with Grasshopper/Rhino and familiarity with Revit and Dynamo.
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or C# is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience applying computational tools (e.g. parametric design, geometry optimization, or data visualization) to real-world projects.
  • Strong ability to visually communicate computational ideas using diagrams and presentations.
  • Collaborative mindset and a willingness to grow through mentorship and team feedback.
  • Basic experience coordinating with BIM or technical teams on design implementation.
  • Exposure to machine learning, AI-assisted design tools, or generative workflows.
  • Involvement in open-source projects, publications, or community-based knowledge sharing.
  • Confidence in presenting computational design thought leadership internally, externally and with clients where required.

Position Requirements

  • Professional degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or related field.
  • 2–4+ years of experience in computational design within architecture or landscape architecture.
  • Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
