CRACKERJACK TRAINING LIMITED is an educational government funded company based in Birmingham, United Kingdom, with flexibility for some remote work, minimum three days per week in the academy. We are dedicated to providing high-quality training and development solutions to empower individuals and organisations to reach their full potential. We are a well-established and growing training provider delivering high quality DFE funded provision in apprenticeships, study programmes and adult funding.
We are now seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead day to day operations and drive sustainable growth while ensuring excellent quality assurance. Responsibilities include managing a senior management team, finances, risk and governance, and reporting to the board with clear KPIs and accountability. The role requires protecting our reputation and being fully responsible for performance, quality, compliance and outcomes.
The ideal candidate must be confident in leading the team through change and growth, have Ofsted experience in a lead role, and experience of DFE audits. Proven senior leadership experience in education, training and skills is essential.
The Senior Managing Director will oversee the strategic planning and execution of training programs, manage a team of trainers and staff, cultivate client relationships, and drive business growth. Some remote work is acceptable, but the role is primarily located in Birmingham, UK. Experience in leadership within an educational setting, bid writing, Ofsted planning, and knowledge of new Ofsted priorities, SAR and QIP writing, data analysis, and EFSA audits is required. The candidate must be prepared to be Head of Centre for awarding bodies and have experience organising and leading on all EQA visits.
The Managing Director will ensure timely completions with excellent success rates while adhering to compliance needs in line with DFE and Ofsted regulations. This includes following and updating company policies and procedures and ensuring thorough risk assessments are carried out regularly to identify and action any threats to the business. Experience within apprenticeships, adult funding, and study programmes is necessary.
Additional requirements include a clean driving licence and DBS. This role requires full control and day to day running of the academy and the management team, setting clear targets and priorities. There is full ownership of learner achievement, retention and attendance measures, with a strong compliance, audit and governance focus. Clear accountability to the board and year on year growth expectations are expected.
This is a Senior Leadership role with real autonomy and an opportunity to shape the next phase of a respected organisation. You will have full MD authority for day to day operations.
