We are currently working with a well-established and highly regarded legal services organisation to recruit an EL/PL Personal Injury Fee Earner to join their growing Personal Injury department. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and supportive team handling a varied caseload of Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims. The role offers genuine responsibility from day one, with the successful candidate managing claims from initial instruction through to settlement or litigation where required.
Working within a fast-paced and client-focused environment, you will play a key role in progressing claims efficiently while delivering a high standard of client care and achieving positive outcomes for injured clients.
The Role
- You will be responsible for managing a caseload of fast-track EL/PL matters, handling claims through both portal and non-portal processes while assessing liability, quantum, and litigation suitability throughout the lifecycle of each file.
- The role will involve reviewing evidence, analysing case prospects, and carrying out legal research to support strategic decision-making and case progression.
- You will also prepare a range of legal documentation, including witness statements, schedules of loss, and pleadings, while negotiating settlements with insurers and third parties to secure the best possible outcomes for clients.
- Where necessary, you will identify matters requiring litigation and support claims through the appropriate legal process.
- Client care is a central aspect of the role, and you will be expected to maintain regular communication with clients, provide clear and practical advice, and effectively manage expectations throughout the progression of their claim.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of EL/PL personal injury claims from instruction through to resolution.
- Handling MOJ portal, non-portal, and litigated matters.
- Reviewing evidence and assessing liability and quantum.
- Drafting legal documentation including statements, pleadings, and schedules of loss.
- Conducting legal research to support case strategy and progression.
- Negotiating settlements with insurers and third parties.
- Identifying claims suitable for litigation and progressing matters accordingly.
- Maintaining high standards of client care and regular communication throughout each claim.
- Ensuring compliance with procedural deadlines and internal case management processes.
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience handling Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims within a personal injury environment and be confident managing their own caseload independently. You will possess strong organisational and negotiation skills, together with the ability to work effectively within a structured and target-driven environment. A practical and commercially aware approach to claims handling is essential, alongside a genuine commitment to delivering excellent client service. Experience handling litigated files and non-portal claims would be highly advantageous.
