CRA Consulting is working with a nationally recognised serious injury practice as they continue to strengthen their senior fee‑earning and leadership capability within their Serious Injury department. This role is suited to an experienced Serious Injury Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer who enjoys handling high‑value, complex litigation while also mentoring and developing colleagues within a collaborative team structure.
The Opportunity
- Manage a portfolio of claimant Serious Injury claims, predominantly RTA‑based, with values ranging from £125,000 through to multi‑million‑pound cases, allocated based on experience and technical strength.
- Run your own caseload while playing a key role in supporting, mentoring and guiding colleagues, contributing to departmental performance, strategy and long‑term growth.
What you’ll be doing
- Running a caseload of high‑value Serious Injury claims (£125k – £multi‑million)
- Acting as a technical specialist within your chosen SI focus
- Delivering exceptional client care to clients following life‑changing injuries
- Meeting clients regularly, including face‑to‑face where required
- Instructing and working with a multi‑disciplinary team of experts (medical experts, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants and counsel)
- Analysing liability, causation and quantum
- Drafting pleadings, statements and schedules of loss
- Securing early interim payments and rehabilitation packages
- Driving cases to optimal settlement outcomes
- Mentoring and supporting colleagues through technical reviews and 1‑2‑1s
- Supporting team performance against KPIs and objectives
- Contributing to business development, profile raising and departmental growth
What they’re looking for
- Qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEX
- 8+ years’ PQE (or equivalent experience operating at Grade A level)
- Strong track record handling complex, high‑value Serious Injury litigation
- Confident lead fee earner with excellent technical ability
- Interest in mentoring, coaching and team development
- Strong commitment to client care and quality outcomes
- Comfortable working in a performance and target‑driven environment
- Well‑organised, resilient and commercially aware
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous supervisory or performance management experience
- Business development exposure and industry profile
- Strong professional network within Serious Injury / PI
- Confident user of case management systems, Word and Excel
