An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Litigation & Debt Recovery Solicitor to join a growing and dynamic legal team specialising in debt recovery, defended litigation, and dispute resolution. This role offers the chance to manage a diverse caseload of defended matters across small claims, fast-track, and multi-track proceedings while working closely with a varied client base to deliver commercially focused recovery solutions. You will be joining a collaborative and fast-paced environment where you will play a key role in progressing litigation matters from initial assessment through to resolution. The position is ideally suited to a proactive and organised legal professional who enjoys managing their own caseload, building strong client relationships, and working within a high-volume litigation setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a defended caseload across small claims, fast-track, and multi-track litigation matters, ensuring proactive progression and timely follow-up through effective case management systems.
- Reviewing complex and high-value pre-legal accounts to assess litigation suitability and recommend appropriate recovery strategies.
- Conducting defended litigation, including drafting pleadings, witness statements, and court documentation, as well as preparing comprehensive trial bundles.
- Advising clients on legal risks, recovery prospects, and commercially viable dispute resolution strategies.
- Liaising with courts, enforcement agents, insolvency practitioners, and external stakeholders to ensure efficient progression of matters.
- Handling insolvency-related proceedings, including Bankruptcy Petitions and Winding Up Petitions.
- Managing Return of Goods claims and associated enforcement actions.
- Supporting wider team objectives and contributing to the continued growth and success of the legal department.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be a confident and commercially minded solicitor with strong litigation experience and the ability to manage a busy and varied caseload independently. You will possess excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to client service and case progression. Experience within debt recovery, defended litigation, insolvency proceedings, or commercial recoveries would be highly advantageous.
