Looking for a Family Law role that genuinely fits around your life?

Not every Family Law opportunity is about climbing the ladder or increasing your caseload. Sometimes it's about finding the right firm, working with great people and enjoying the flexibility to continue doing the work you love without compromising your work-life balance.

CRA Consulting is proud to be working in partnership with one of Derbyshire's most established and highly regarded law firms. With a long-standing reputation for providing outstanding legal services across Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock, the firm has built its success on exceptional client care, investing in its people and maintaining a friendly, collaborative culture.

Due to continued growth within the department, the firm is now looking to recruit an experienced Family Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or experienced Family Fee Earner to join its successful Family Law team on a part-time basis.

This is a rare opportunity to become part of a respected regional practice that truly understands the importance of flexibility, offering hybrid working alongside high-quality private family work and genuine long-term career prospects.

Why this opportunity stands out

  • Genuine part-time role with flexibility around working days and hours
  • Hybrid working available
  • High-quality privately funded Family Law work
  • Established and loyal client base
  • Friendly, supportive and down-to-earth working environment
  • Excellent reputation throughout Derbyshire
  • Modern systems and excellent administrative support
  • Career development without sacrificing your work-life balance

The Role

Joining an experienced and welcoming team, you will manage your own varied caseload of privately funded Family Law matters while delivering an exceptional level of service to clients during what are often some of the most important periods of their lives.

Your caseload is likely to include:

  • Divorce and separation
  • Financial remedy matters
  • Private children disputes
  • Cohabitation disputes
  • Pre and post-nuptial agreements
  • Domestic abuse and injunction applications
  • Separation agreements
  • General private family law advice

The firm prides itself on offering sensible caseloads, realistic expectations and allowing its lawyers the time to build strong relationships with clients rather than simply focusing on volume.

What we're looking for

We're keen to speak with:

  • Qualified Solicitors
  • Chartered Legal Executives
  • Experienced Family Fee Earners

You’ll ideally have:

  • Around 3 years’ PQE or equivalent experience (applications outside this level are encouraged)
  • Experience managing your own Family Law caseload
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • A compassionate and practical approach to supporting clients
  • Strong organisational and case management skills
  • The ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a close-knit team

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who enjoys building long-term client relationships and wants to be part of a firm where quality of service genuinely comes first.

The Package

  • Salary between £40,000 and £60,000 FTE, depending on experience
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Hybrid working
  • Flexible part-time hours
  • Generous annual leave (pro rata)
  • Company pension
  • Ongoing training and career development
