This is a role designed to develop future fee earners and associates, not keep you in the background.
The Opportunity
- You’ll work closely with a senior lead fee earner on complex Serious Injury cases, while also managing a small personal caseload to build autonomy and technical confidence.
- The work is predominantly RTA-based, involving technically challenging issues around liability, causation, and quantum, with a clear and structured pathway into higher-value cases and senior roles as your experience grows.

- Managing a small Serious Injury caseload with increasing responsibility
- Developing a deep understanding of case strategy, key issues, and next steps
- Progressing agreed actions efficiently and proactively
- Drafting statements, pleadings, and schedules of loss

- Securing early interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients and external stakeholders
- Maintaining accurate, high-quality records on the case management system
- Preparing documentation for conferences, settlement meetings, and client meetings
- Supporting profile-raising, networking, and business development activity
- Mentoring junior colleagues where appropriate
What they’re looking for
- Qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEX, or equivalent experience at Grade B or C level
- Experience assisting on or managing Serious Injury or high-value PI claims
- Strong client-care ethos and attention to detail
- Confident communicator with developing negotiation skills
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities
- Comfortable working in a structured, target-led environment
- Confident using case management systems, Word, and Excel
- Desirable (but not essential): Exposure to catastrophic or complex Serious Injury claims
- Clear ambition to build a long-term career in Serious Injury litigation
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues
- Engagement with industry bodies, CPD, or profile-raising activity
