Are you an experienced HR professional looking for an opportunity where you can genuinely make an impact within a successful and established professional services business? CRA Consulting are working with a well-established law firm on the outskirts of Sheffield who are looking to recruit an HR Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day HR function and play an important role in the continued development of the business. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the business, working directly with senior management and employees rather than operating within a large corporate HR structure.

Why this opportunity stands out

  • The firm offers a friendly, professional working environment and is looking for someone who can become a key part of the business.
  • Salary of £45,000 - £55,000, depending on experience
  • Full-time or part-time hours considered
  • Opportunity to take ownership of the HR function
  • Work closely with senior management
  • Established and successful Sheffield law firm
  • Excellent location close to Meadowhall, train and bus links
  • Legal sector experience advantageous but not essential
  • Professional services experience welcomed

The Role

As HR Manager, you will provide practical, commercially focused HR support across the firm and act as a trusted point of contact for both management and employees. Your responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Managing the day-to-day HR function
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee retention
  • Providing advice on employee relations matters
  • Managing absence, performance and disciplinary processes
  • Reviewing and developing HR policies and procedures
  • Supporting learning, development and staff progression
  • Assisting with salary reviews, benefits and employee engagement
  • Ensuring HR practices remain compliant with current employment legislation
  • Working closely with senior management on wider people and business strategy
  • Helping to maintain a positive, professional and supportive working culture

What we're looking for

We're keen to speak with experienced HR professionals who are comfortable working autonomously and building strong relationships across a business. Previous experience within a law firm would be a definite advantage, although this isn't essential. Candidates coming from other professional services environments would also be of particular interest. You should be approachable, commercially minded and confident dealing with everything from everyday employee queries through to more complex HR matters.

The Package

£45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience. The firm is also very open-minded around working hours and will consider both full-time and part-time applicants for the right person. Please note that this is an office-based position, five days per week, so it would particularly suit someone who enjoys being visible within the business and working closely with colleagues face-to-face.

Why speak to CRA Consulting?

This isn't simply about finding somebody to process HR paperwork. The firm wants an experienced HR professional who can become a trusted part of the business and help shape its people strategy moving forward. If you're an HR Manager, HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or experienced HR professional in Sheffield or the surrounding area and would like a confidential conversation, I'm very happy to tell you more. Contact Rob Addy at CRA Consulting for a confidential discussion on 0114 2418030.
