CRA Consulting is delighted to be working in exclusive partnership with one of Yorkshire's most respected and long-established specialist law firms to recruit an Employment Solicitor into its growing Leeds office. This is a genuinely standout opportunity for an Employment Solicitor looking to move into a highly regarded and people-focused practice offering exceptional quality work, an adult working environment and one of the best work-life balance cultures in the legal sector.
The firm has built an outstanding reputation nationally across the charity, education and private client sectors and continues to attract high-quality instructions from schools, academy trusts, charities, landed estates, owner-managed businesses and private individuals across the UK. Unlike many larger commercial practices, this opportunity offers the chance to work closely with clients in a more relationship-led environment whilst still handling complex and intellectually stimulating employment matters.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will join a highly regarded Employment team handling a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. You will advise a varied and loyal client base including:
- Charities and social enterprises
- Schools and academy trusts
- Landed estates and family businesses
- Senior individuals and private employers
The workload is incredibly varied and will include:
- Employment Tribunal litigation
- Disciplinary and grievance matters
- Redundancies and restructures
- Settlement agreements
- HR advisory work
- Day-to-day employment support
There is also the opportunity to broaden your expertise into wider advisory work affecting schools and academy trusts, including parental complaints and SEND-related matters. The team environment is highly collaborative and supportive, with a real emphasis on quality over volume and long-term client relationships rather than aggressive billing culture.
What They're Looking For
- Employment Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
- Around 2-6 years PQE
- Strong technical employment law experience
- Employment Tribunal exposure desirable
- Someone commercially minded but personable and approachable
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A team player who enjoys collaborative working
Equally important is personality and cultural fit. The team is known for being friendly, down-to-earth and supportive, making this an excellent environment for someone looking to develop their long-term career.
What's On Offer
- £65,000 to £85,000 basic salary
- Bonus scheme
- Hybrid and agile working
- Leeds city centre office
- 1200 chargeable hours target
- Private medical insurance
- Enhanced family-friendly benefits
- Holiday purchase scheme
- Pension, life assurance and income protection
- Strong work-life balance culture
- Genuine long‑term progression opportunities
- High staff retention and supportive leadership
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step away from the pressures often associated with larger volume‑driven practices whilst still handling first‑class employment law work within a highly respected team.
