Lead, influence and grow an established Employment Law practice. CRA Consulting is delighted to be exclusively supporting a highly respected regional law firm in the appointment of an experienced Employment Law Partner or Legal Director to join its well-established Nottingham office. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious senior employment lawyer who is looking to join a successful and growing commercial practice where they can play a genuine leadership role.
You'll inherit an established client base, work alongside a respected commercial team and be given the autonomy to develop your own practice whilst contributing to the wider strategic direction of the business. The firm is seeking an individual with a modest but established following who is passionate about growing client relationships, mentoring junior lawyers and helping to further strengthen an already successful Employment team. This is not a "build from scratch" opportunity-it's a chance to accelerate your career within an established platform that is already generating quality work and enjoying an excellent reputation across the East Midlands.
Why this opportunity stands out:
- Salary of £75,000 - £110,000 depending on experience.
- Genuine Partnership or Legal Director opportunity.
- Join an established and highly regarded Employment Law team.
- Existing quality workflow with significant opportunities for growth.
- Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
- Strong cross-referral opportunities from Corporate, Commercial, Real Estate and Private Client teams.
- High-quality employer client base spanning SMEs, owner-managed businesses and larger organisations.
- Genuine influence over the future direction and growth of the department.
- Excellent long-term career prospects within a financially strong regional firm.
The Role:
This is a strategic appointment within an established Employment team where you will play a key role in developing both the department and the wider commercial offering. Key responsibilities will include:
- Advising employer clients on the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
- Managing complex Employment Tribunal litigation.
- Advising on restructures, redundancies, TUPE transfers and senior executive matters.
- Supporting corporate transactions with employment law advice.
- Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with existing and new commercial clients.
- Assisting with the strategic growth of the Employment department.
- Mentoring and developing junior lawyers within the team.
- Working closely with Partners across other practice areas to maximise cross-selling opportunities.
- Contributing to networking, business development and profile-raising activities across the East Midlands.
What we're looking for:
This opportunity would suit an experienced Employment Partner, Legal Director, Senior Associate or Principal Associate who is looking for genuine progression and the opportunity to influence the future success of an established Employment practice. Ideally you will have:
- Significant experience advising predominantly employer clients.
- A strong reputation within the East Midlands legal and business community.
- An existing network of professional contacts and a modest following of clients or referral relationships.
- Excellent technical expertise across contentious and non-contentious employment law.
- Strong commercial awareness with a genuine interest in business development.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior lawyers.
- The ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
- A collaborative approach and a desire to contribute to the wider success of the firm.
The Package:
- Competitive salary of £75,000 - £110,000 depending on experience.
- Attractive bonus structure.
- Genuine Partnership or Legal Director opportunity.
- Hybrid and flexible working.
- Generous annual leave.
- Comprehensive pension and benefits package.
- Ongoing investment in your career and practice development.
- Access to an established client base and high-quality cross-referral network.
- Long-term opportunity to shape and grow a successful Employment Law practice.
