CRA Consulting is recruiting a Debt Recovery Solicitor to join a rapidly growing legal and financial services firm. The role is part of a UK group employing over 500 staff, delivering specialist debt recovery and litigation services to commercial clients. The successful candidate will work within a target-driven environment, managing their own caseload and providing commercially minded legal advice.
Responsibilities
- Managing a defended caseload of debt recovery and litigation matters from inception through to resolution
- Handling small claims, fast-track and multi-track litigation matters
- Reviewing complex and high-value pre-legal accounts and advising on litigation strategy
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, applications and court documentation
- Preparing court bundles and supporting cases through the litigation process
- Advising clients on prospects of recovery, litigation risks and commercially focused solutions
- Liaising with courts, enforcement agents and third-party providers to progress matters efficiently
- Conducting insolvency-related recovery work including Bankruptcy Petitions and Winding Up proceedings
- Managing Return of Goods claims and associated recovery actions
- Maintaining high levels of client care and ensuring matters are progressed proactively through a structured diary management system
- Supporting the wider legal team and contributing to business objectives and service standards
Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or experienced Litigation Fee Earner
- Previous experience handling debt recovery, civil litigation or defended litigation matters
- Strong understanding of the litigation process and Civil Procedure Rules
- Confident drafting skills including pleadings, witness statements and applications
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a busy caseload effectively
- Commercially aware with a practical and client-focused approach
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Experience of insolvency litigation or enforcement action would be advantageous
- Motivated individual who enjoys working within a fast-paced legal environment
