Job Title: Childcare Solicitor
Salary Range: £40,000 to £55,000
Location: Sheffield City Centre (with Hybrid & Flexible Working)
Contract: Full or Part Time, Permanent

Our client is a well‑known regional Legal 500 law firm with offices across Yorkshire, respected for their friendly and collaborative culture. The firm has experienced a period of growth and is recognised for providing high‑quality legal services across private and legal aid child law matters.

Due to increasing workload, the firm is looking to recruit a Child Law Solicitor to join their Private & Legal Aid Child Law department. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor seeking to develop their career in child law within a supportive and established practice.

Position

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of child law matters, including abuse, care arrangements, custody rights, rights of access, grandparent rights, adoption, and child abduction cases. You will advise and represent clients in all areas of children law, both privately funded and legally aided.

The role involves drafting legal documents including settlement agreements, witness statements, and court applications, negotiating effectively on behalf of clients, and attending court hearings at Family Court and higher courts as required. You will provide clear, empathetic, and practical advice to clients, keeping them informed throughout often challenging processes, and work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm, including financial advisors and other specialists. Keeping up to date with legal developments and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements is an essential part of the role.

Key Details

This is a full‑time, permanent position with flexible working arrangements including hybrid and agile working.
