Role: Military Claims Solicitor
CRA Consulting is delighted to be working with a well-established and respected claimant law firm to recruit a Military Claims Solicitor / Litigation Executive for its growing Castleford office.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist team representing current and former Armed Forces personnel in complex personal injury and industrial disease claims.
You'll handle a rewarding caseload that makes a genuine difference to clients while benefiting from a supportive culture and excellent opportunities for professional development.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of a varied caseload of military injury and industrial disease claims, managing files from initial instruction through to settlement or trial where appropriate.
The work includes claims relating to
- Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL)
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Non-Freezing Cold Injury (NFCI)
- Asbestos-related illnesses and other military-related injury claims
Responsibilities
- Managing your own caseload of litigated and pre-litigated military claims.
- Conducting legal research and developing case strategies.
- Drafting court documents, witness statements and legal correspondence.
- Instructing and liaising with medical experts, counsel and other professionals.
- Gathering and assessing evidence to build strong claims on behalf of clients.
- Negotiating settlements and representing clients throughout the litigation process.
- Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Keeping up to date with developments in personal injury litigation, including the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme and relevant military legislation.
About You
Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors, Legal Executives or experienced Litigation Fee Earners with claimant personal injury experience. You'll ideally have:
- Experience managing a caseload of personal injury or industrial disease claims.
- Strong litigation and case management skills.
- Excellent communication and client care abilities.
- The ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy.
- A proactive approach with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Previous experience handling military claims would be advantageous but is not essential, as training and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidate.
