• An experienced and proactive Senior Social Worker / Specialist Social Worker is required to join a busy Localities Team on a temporary basis.

• The role involves leading complex casework, providing high-quality support to vulnerable service users, and contributing to the delivery of statutory social care responsibilities.

Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):

• Manage a complex caseload of adults with care and support needs under the Care Act 2014.

• Carry out person-centred assessments, reviews, and support planning in line with statutory duties.

• Undertake safeguarding enquiries and risk assessments, making appropriate interventions to protect vulnerable individuals.

• Work closely with health professionals, families, and partner agencies to deliver integrated, multi-agency support.

• Provide professional advice and mentoring to less experienced staff as required.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, procedures, and codes of practice.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation using the local case management system.

Skills/Experience:

• Extensive experience in statutory adult social care settings, particularly in Localities Teams.

• Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and relevant safeguarding legislation.

• Proven ability to manage complex caseloads independently and confidently.

• Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

• Competent in using electronic case recording systems and standard IT applications.

• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and contribute to team performance.
