Job Purpose

  • The SEN Project Officer plays a crucial role in the statutory SEN Team, providing essential business support services to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of statutory procedures for pupils with special educational needs. This includes maintaining EHC Plans, arranging provision placements, and supporting operational and strategic management.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

  • Provide administrative support to the SEND Service Manager and Head of SEND on key projects
  • Contribute to the development of an efficient and effective team
  • Support training and development within the team, including induction programs for new recruits
  • Organize and schedule virtual training sessions, including coordinating trainers and attendees
  • Implement a continuous program of induction and training for the whole service, including maintaining training records and scheduling events
  • Act as the first responder for Freedom of Information & Subject Access Requests

Essential Experience Required

  • Relevant experience in an educational setting, local authority, or with children and young people in a related field
  • Experience in business support/business administration or Educated to GCSE Level standard
  • Level 3 NVQ in business administration

Additional Information

  • Working hours: 35 hours per week
  • Hybrid working: 1 to 2 days per week onsite in the Civic Centre
  • Enhanced DBS & barred list check (Child & adult) required.

Requirements
The SEN Project Officer is a vital part of the statutory SEN Team. They support the service in providing high level quality and comprehensive business support services to the SEN Team, Operational & strategic Management of the Service so that the service can fulfil its statutory duties in relation to maintaining the EHC Plans of pupils with special educational needs by ensuring the efficient and effective implementation of statutory procedures and the appropriate placement and ongoing provision arrangements for Enfield residing pupils both inside and outside the LA area. They can follow standard operating procedures with limited supervision and should actively champion continuous improvement and the implementation of automation and efficient ways of working. The SEN Project Officer will work closely with families and service providers to support the development and maintenance of coproduced practice standards, assist with training, development, and workforce planning. #J-18808-Ljbffr
